INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
2008 - GEB0803LV
to facilitate the installation, use and maintenance. It occurs that the given
information isn't in accordance with the product when the product is adapted
to meet the local requirements or other specifications. When this is the case,
please contact the nearest sales office.
II. COMPONENTS
See page 518
III. DIMENSIONS
See page 516 –519
IV. INSTALLATION
IV.1. Important information
A. Bearing capacity of the installation surface
Control the reliability of the wall or ceiling construction by
installation of the air heater.
Select the suited fastenings, according to the weight of the air heater
and the wall or ceiling construction.
Consult a specialist or the architect.
B. Installation place
In selecting an installation place, take into account following
elements :
- minimum and maximum mounting height
- air throw direction
- the distance between the different air heaters (dependent on the
output of the air heater , number of air heaters and where they are
installed)
Consult the engineering office
IV.2. Installation of the air heater
We recommend our hanging brackets to suspend the air heater in a
good and solid way.
Make sure that the air heater is stabily suspended.
The air heater should be fixed at least at 4 points to the wall or
ceiling.
The air heater should be mounted water-level. In order to ensure
a good drain off and desaeration, the pipe connections may not be
connected pointing upwards or downwards.
A minimum distance between the air heater and the wall or ceiling
must be respected (cfr. tabels on p. 18-20).
IV.3. Pipe connection
Prevent that mechanical tensions arise when connecting the water
inlet and outlet connections.
Install the pipe connections in such a manner that maintenance and
repair can easily be carried out.
Labels on the air heater point out the water inlet and outlet
connections.
Use pliers on the heat exchanger's pipe connections and hold steady
while firmly fixing the pipe connections, thus avoiding bending or
tearing open the water connections of the heat exchanger.
AIR HEATERS
Pay attention to the labels on the casing.
Desaerate the heat exchanger.
After draining off the water, there might still be water in the
roundings of the heat exchanger. Store the air heaters frost-proof .
IV.4. Electrical installation
A. Important information
In case of maintenance, the power supply must be interrupted and
secured against restoration.
The electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified
electrician. Follow the local prescriptions, norms and safety
requirements.
The cable-laying must be done according the prevailing prescriptions.
The type and section of cable must be determinated by the electrician.
The number of conductors depends on the motor type and the speed
control. See the wiring diagrams of the motors and speed controls.
The cable-entrances must be sealed to prevent water drops from
entering.
B. Electrical connection motor 11
See page 521
Motor with external rotor & operating capacitor;
Alternating current 1 x 230 V; 50 Hz;
Motor isolation class : F;
Motor protection class : IP54;
2 speed by branched winding
The motor windings are equipped with thermal contacts. Thermal
contacts are temperature sensing, switching elements built directly
into the windings of the external rotor windings. They interrupt an
electrical contact as soon as the maximum admissible sustained
temperature, 130°C, has been reached. The thermal contact protect
the air heater against overload, in accordance with specification VDE
0730.
Breaking capacity : 10A with cos phi =1,0; 6A with cos phi =0,6 -
Rated voltage : 250 Volts
The thermal contacts must be connected to the control circuit of the
main contactor to prevent automatic reconnection of the motor to the
main in case of a fault.
Direction of rotation : the motor has the right direction of rotation
when the air flows out of the air diffuser. The direction of rotation
can not be changed.
Connection test : compare the current intensity in all speeds with the
label on the air heater.
Connection of a 2 speed switch
5+1 wires are necessary
Different air heaters, of the same size, can be connected in parellel.
Air heaters from different sizes can not be connected in parellel with
a 2 speed switch.
Thermal contacts must be connected in series.
