Use a set square to check the angle between the
protractor and the saw blade. If the angle does not
measure 90° adjust as follows:
Loosen the set screw (33) and turn the guide
fence so that the profile is at a 90° angle.
Tighten the adjusting screw.
Loosen the screw (38) and adjust the pointer (39)
so that it registers 0° . Tighten the screw.
SETTING THE GUIDE FENCE FOR STRAIGHT
CROSS-CUTTING
Slide the guide fence (17) with the holder (31) in
the guide rail (32).
Set the protractor (34) at 0° .
Set the guide fence so that the guide profile (37)
is just out of reach from the saw blade.
SETTING THE GUIDE FENCE FOR MITRE
CUTTING
The mitre angle is infinitely variable from 0 - 45°.
Slide the guide fence (17) with the holder (31) in
the guide rail (32).
Set the desired mitre angle using the scale on the
protractor (34).
Set the guide fence so that the guide profile (37)
is just out of reach from the saw blade.
SETTING THE GUIDE FENCE FOR RIPPING
Slide the guide fence (17) with the holder (31) in
the guide rail (40).
Set the protractor (34) at 0° .
Set the desired distance using the scale on the
table top (18).
Tighten the lock knob (35).
Set the guide fence so that the guide profile (37)
is parallel to the saw blade.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Check whether the guide fence has been
mounted correctly (when using the machine in the
table saw position).
Switch on the machine before the work piece
makes contact with the saw blade.
Do not exert pressure on the saw blade. Allow the
machine enough time to cut the work piece.
If the saw blade comes to a standstill or
decelerates, the machine is being overloaded.
Immediately stop sawing and let the motor
cool down by leaving the machine running idle for
some time.
SWITCHING ON AND OFF
The machine has been fitted with a voltage
protection:
this protection prevents the machine from
unintended being switched on while the machine is
connected to the mains voltage.
When using the machine in the cut-off saw position:
To switch on the machine press the on/off switch
(1).
To switch the tool off, release the on/off switch.
When using the machine in the table saw position:
To switch the machine on, set the on/off switch
(15) to 'I'.
To switch the machine off, set the on/off switch to
'0'.
RIPPING
Ripping cuts are performed with the machine set up
in the table saw position. While ripping, the work
piece is guided along the guide fence and sawn
through longitudinally.
Set the guide fence (17) for parallel guiding
when ripping and set the guide profile (37).
Switch on the machine.
Securely hold the work piece and guide it along
the saw blade keeping it pressed against the guide
fence.
In the final stage use the push stick to keep your
hands well clear from the saw blade.
Switch the machine off as soon as the cut is
completed.
Always use the push stick to cut extremely small
workpieces.
SAWING STRAIGHT CROSS-CUTS
Straight cross-cuts are performed with the machine
set up in the cut-off saw position or in the table saw
position. While sawing straight cross-cuts when
using the machine in the cut-off saw position the
workpiece is placed against the fence and sawn
through transversely. While performing the same cut
when using the machine in the table saw position
the workpiece is placed against the guide fence.
For sawing straight cross-cuts in the cut-off saw
position, proceed as follows:
Keep the workpiece pressed to the table and the
guide fence (13).
Switch on the machine.
Depress the head with equal force to allow the
saw blade to cut through the workpiece and enter
the table slot
Switch the machine off as soon as the cut is
completed.
Only raise the head after the saw blade has come to
a complete standstill.
For sawing straight cross-cuts in the table saw
position, proceed as follows:
Set the guide fence (17) for sawing straight
cross-cuts.
Place the workpiece lengthwise against the
profile and set the guide profile (37).
Switch on the machine.
Securely hold the workpiece and guide it along
the saw blade keeping it pressed against the guide
fence.
Switch the machine off as soon as the cut is
completed.
Sawing mitre cuts
Mitre cuts are performed with the machine set up in
the cut-off saw position or in the table saw position.
While sawing mitre cuts when using the machine in
the cut-off saw position the workpiece is placed
against the fence and sawn through transversely at
an angle. While performing the same cut when
using the machine in the table saw position the
workpiece is placed against the guide fence.
For sawing mitre cuts in the cut-off saw position,
proceed as follows:
Set the mitre angle.
Proceed as described for sawing straight cross-
cuts in the cut-off saw position.
