Re-connect the connectors to the BCM unit.
Sequence of steps in the fuse box area:
(1) NOTICE: In vehicles not equipped with the front fog lamps, connect the electrical
installation kit of the tow hook red wire directly to position 53B (52B, 51B, 50B). Do
not connect connectors 1J0.973.303 and 1J0.973.333. Place one 20A-type fuse (not
supplied) to position 53B (52B, 51B, 50B). Wrap the free connector of the electrical
installation kit of the tow hook with a protective foam part.
Remove the fuse on the position 54
Take out the contact off the position 54A (#) and connect into the connector 1J0.973.333
to position 1. Connect this connector in connector 1J0.973.303 of the electrical installation
kit of the tow hook and wrap it in protective foam.
Find the red wire on the electrical installation kit of the tow hook terminated with a contact
coming out in the 200 mm distance from connector 1J0.973.303. Connect this wire to
position 54A (#) of the fuse box.
Replace the fuse in position 54
Find the red wire with a yellow stripe on the electrical installation kit of the tow hook.
Connect this wire to position 26B (#) of the fuse box. Put one 5A-type fuse to position 26.
Insulate the remaining 3 wires (2 grey and black/red), and the two-pole terminal board
4B0.971.992. The terminal board 893.971.632 will not be used.
For all vehicle types:
Encode the BCM according to new equipment
Notice: if the vehicle is equipped with Park Pilot, recode the unit of this system to enable
operation with the towing bracket.
Once the electric installation assembly is completed, re-connect the negative pole battery cable
and check the electric installation by means of a diagnostic instrument. If the electric installation
works properly, continue in fitting of all the remaining dismounted parts.
