Pericardium membrane for soft tissue reconstruction
Product description
Xenoguard is a cell-free, non-pyrogenic
collagen matrix obtained from porcine
pericardium. Xenoguard is intended for
use as a surgical membrane in soft tissue
repairs and serves to support, cover or
replace tissue. Xenoguard is available in
various sizes. Xenoguard comes in
double sterile packaging, is supplied dry
and does not contain any preservatives.
This surgical membrane is a resilient,
biocompatible implant, which grows
into the host tissue through cellular and
microvascular infiltration.
Composition
Sterile, acellular collagen matrix of
porcine pericardium.
Indications
Xenoguard is intended for implantation
into humans and serves to regenerate
soft and connective tissues for
- reconstruction, rebuilding contours and
regenerating soft and connective tissues,
particularly following loss of tissue,
- supporting tissue in case of loss of
stability.
Applications
include
- breast reconstruction
- breast and body wall reconstruction
- urological and gynaecological
reconstructive surgery of the pelvic floor
- reconstructive ENT surgery
Contraindications
- The surgical membrane is of porcine
origin and cannot be used in patients
with known hypersensitivity to porcine
materials.
Warnings
- Do not resterilise.
- Do not use if the packaging has been
opened or damaged. Do not use if the
seal is open or damaged.
- After use, treat and dispose of all
unused products and packaging
materials in accordance with recognised
medical practice and the applicable
national and local environmental
