recycled. This air must always be brought outside the working
area.
Use
- Inspect the product and check it for damage. Verify the
functioning of the safety features.
- Check the working environment. Do not allow unauthorised
persons to enter the working environment.
- Protect the product against water and humidity.
- Make sure the room is always sufficiently ventilated; this
applies especially to confined spaces.
Service, maintenance and repairs
- Observe the maintenance intervals given in this manual.
Overdue maintenance can lead to high costs for repair and
revisions and can render the guarantee null and void.
- Always use tools, materials, lubricants and service techniques
which have been approved by the manufacturer. Never use
worn tools and do not leave any tools in or on the product.
- Safety features which have been removed for service,
maintenance or repairs, must be put back immediately after
finishing these jobs and it must be checked that they still
function properly.
ATTENTION!
Service, maintenance and repairs should only be
performed in accordance with directive TRGS 560 by
authorised, qualified and trained persons (skilled)
using appropriate work practices.
WARNING!
After switching off the fan, wait at least 30 seconds
before opening the inspection cover to carry out
service, maintenance or repair jobs.

INSTALLATION
4.1
Unpacking
Check that the product is complete. The package should
contain:
- extraction fan in housing
- key
- strain relief
If parts are missing or damaged, contact your supplier.
4.2
Installation
It is recommended to mount the fan on an optional
mounting frame.
Place the fan in such a way, that the inspection cover
remains accessible for maintenance works.
Align the inlet of the fan preferably with the outlet of
the connected filter system.
The fan can be positioned in the following ways:
- using a fork-lift truck (preferred way);
- hoisting it using the eye bolts mounted on top of the fan inside
the housing. For this purpose, remove the top cover of the
housing.
To mount the fan, proceed as follows.
•
Position the fan.
•
Connect the inlet of the fan to the outlet of the filter system.
If necessary, use reducers metric to imperial to make the
connection fit.
ATTENTION!
In case the fan is not placed directly next to the filter
system, make sure the connection duct is sufficiently
supported.

In case of an optional silencer, proceed with section 4.2.1. If no
silencer is involved, proceed as follows.
•
Connect an outlet duct to the outlet of the fan. If necessary,
use reducers metric to imperial to make the connection fit.
4.2.1 Silencer
To mount the optional silencer, proceed as follows.
•
Mount the silencer on the outlet of the fan.
•
Connect an outlet duct to the silencer.
•
Make sure all connections are airtight.
4.3
Electric connection
ATTENTION!
Electric connection to be executed in accordance with
local requirements. Ensure compliance with the EMC
regulatory arrangements.
CAUTION!
Make sure that the fan is suitable for connection to the
local mains. Information about the connection voltage
and frequency can be found on the identification plate.
The fan can be connected to the mains in two different ways:
- through a system control panel (preferred way)
- through a star-delta switch (available on request or to be
sourced locally)
4.3.1 System Control Panel
•
Select the appropriate System Control Panel from the table
below.
Fan type
SIF-700 - SF 7000
SIF-900 - SF 9000
SIF-1200 - SF 12000
SIF-1500 - SF 15000
SIF-1800 - SF 18000
SIF-1900 - SF 19000
SIF-2000 - SF 20000
•
Connect the fan to the system control panel in accordance
with the electrical diagram supplied with the system control
panel.
•
Check the direction of rotation of the motor. For this purpose
the fan contains an arrow indicating the prescribed direction
of rotation.
•
If necessary: change the connection of the phases.
4.3.1 Star-delta switch
•
Connect a suitable star-delta switch in accordance with the
supplied electrical diagram.
•
Check the direction of rotation of the motor. For this purpose
the fan contains an arrow indicating the prescribed direction
of rotation.
•
If necessary: change the connection of the phases.
5
USE
Refer to the documentation supplied with the corresponding
system control panel or star-delta switch how to control the fan.
6
MAINTENANCE
6.1
Periodic maintenance
The product has been designed to function without problems for
a long time with a minimum of maintenance. In order to
guarantee this some simple, regular maintenance and cleaning
activities are required which are described in this chapter.
The indicated maintenance intervals can vary depending on the
specific working and ambient conditions. Therefore it is
recommended to thoroughly inspect the complete product once
