Disposal of batteries

Used disposable / rechargeable batteries
should not be disposed of in the normal
rubbish, since they contain environmentally
damaging substances. To return them for
recycling, they should be given to the retailer
or handed in as special waste (collecting
point).
Please use any existing disposal systems for
the return of used batteries in your respective
country.
In Germany:
As a consumer, you are legally obliged to
return used batteries.
You can return your used batteries free of
charge where the batteries are sold. The same
applies at the public collection points provi-
ded in your town or by your local authority.
You will find these symbols on batteries that
contain harmful substances:
Pb = battery / rechargeable battery contains
lead
Cd = battery / rechargeable battery contains
cadmium
Hg = battery / rechargeable battery contains
mercury
Li = battery / rechargeable battery contains
lithium
