6.2.1 Adjusting the DMX address
To be able to operate the DP-4DMX with a DMX light
control unit, the DMX start address for the 1st DMX
channel must be adjusted as a binary number via the
DIP switches (10) with the numbers 1 to 9. The start
address results by addition of the values of the posi-
tions of the DIP switches (1, 2, 4 ... 128, 256) which
are set to ON, as shown in the following figures, e. g.:

Adjusting the DMX address
The easiest way is to start from the greatest possible
switch value and to add the smaller values to it.
Another method for adjusting an address given as a
decimal number is as follows:
1) Set all switches to off (upper position).
2) If the number is even, leave the switch No. 1 in off
position; if it is uneven, set the switch to position
ON and subtract 1 from the number.
3) Divide the number or the result by 2.
4) If the result is even, leave the next switch in off posi-
tion; if it is uneven, set the switch to position ON
and subtract 1 from the result.
Repeat the steps 3) and 4) until the result is zero.
As an adjusting aid, the small PC programme DIPS-
WITCH.EXE can be downloaded via the internet:
www.imgstageline.com, Support, Software.
Independent of the adjusted address, the reception
of a DMX signal is indicated by flashing of the LED
Power/DMX signal (5).

6.3 Control via an analog light console
Prior to the control via an analog light control unit, one
of the DIP switches 1 to 9 must be set to position ON
so that the DP-4DMX does not operate in the light
sequencer mode. For the control a DC voltage of 0 V
to 10 V is used at the jack ANALOG IN (9) to adjust the
brightness for the corresponding channel from 0 %
to 100 %.
6.4 Automatic light sequencer
The DP-4DMX can also be operated without control unit
as an automatic light sequencer. For this purpose set all
DIP switches (10) to the upper position. Then an inter-
nal programme takes over the light sequencer control.
If the switch FUNCTION is set to position ON, all
lamps will flash in sync.
