Thank you for selecting the TG MM1w measurement
microphone head. Please take some time to read carefully
through this information before using the product.
Applications
The TG MM1w measurement microphone head is used in
combination with the TG 1000 handheld transmitter for
wireless measuring of sound reinforcement systems. In
addition to level measurements it can be used for determining
frequency responses by using appropriate analysers.
The remote narrow tubular microphone capsule makes sure
that the influence on the sound field can be neglected so that
an increase in sound pressure is avoided with high
frequencies.
Setting up and Mounting
• Put the requested microphone head onto the thread of the
handheld transmitter and turn it to tighten.
• Make sure that you turn off the handheld transmitter
before changing the microphone head.
• When mounting the TG 1000 handheld transmitter with
the TG MM1w, make sure that there are not any large
objects close to the microphone, as they could influence
the sound field.
• When you attach the TG 1000 handheld transmitter with
a microphone clamp on a stand, please make sure that the
microphone clamp is as far as possible away from the
microphone head to avoid interferences.
With frequencies above 10 kHz a slight pressure build-up
occurs when the sound is received directly from the front.
This causes a maximum increase of 3 dB at 20 kHz. With
lower frequencies the polar pattern is exactly omnidirectional.
Therefore, when measuring loudspeakers and other sound
sources with a high content of direct sound the TG 1000
handheld transmitter with the TG MM1w microphone head
has to be placed in a 90° position to the sound source. This
allows you to receive an absolutely linear reproduction in
frequencies above 10 kHz. .
