The appliance can also be switched off at any
time by sliding back on/off switch 4.
Caution: If jug 1 is lifted from the base and
replaced before boiling is complete, the
electric kettle will continue to boil the water.
Notes: Only operate the kettle with lid 2
closed and limescale filter 6 fitted, otherwise
the kettle will not switch off automatically
(automatic steam switch off feature).
Condensation on base 7 is from the automatic
steam switch off feature. Jug 1 is not leaking.
The kettle does not switch off until the boiling
point is reached, i.e. the water simmers for
short while beforehand.
After each boil, allow the appliance to cool for
five minutes before adding more water.
Do not switch on the appliance if jug 1 is
empty, otherwise the temperature safety
switch will be activated.
Cleaning
Never immerse the appliance in water or put it
in the dishwasher.
Do not use a steam cleaner.
Disconnect the plug from the mains.

Only wipe down the outside of jug 1 and
S
base 7 with a damp cloth; do not use
sharp or abrasive cleaning products.
Remove limescale filter 6 and soak it in
S
some vinegar.
Then rinse jug 1 and limescale filter 6 with
S
clean water.
Tip: Clean the high quality stainless steel
surface of the kettle using a commercially
available cleaning agent suitable for use on
stainless steel.
Descaling
Regular descaling
- prolongs the service life of the appliance
- ensures perfect operation
- reduces the boiling time
- saves energy.
Descale jug 1 with vinegar or a commercially
available descaler.
Fill jug 1 with water up to the 1.5 mark and
S
boil. Then fill to the max mark with vinegar
and leave to work for several hours.
You can also use a descaler in accordance
S
with the manufacturer's instructions.
Then rinse jug 1 and limescale filter 6 with
S
clean water.
Caution: Do not remove limescale deposits
using sharp implements as this could damage
the seal.
Troubleshooting
The appliance is not heating and indicator
light 5 does not light up → the temperature
safety switch has been activated.
Remove jug 1 (after a long cooling down
S
period) and replace it so that the appliance
can be switched back on.
The appliance switches off before boiling is
complete → the appliance is furred with
limescale.
Descale the appliance in accordance with
S
the instructions.
