1.2 Basic safety information
This is a basic manual for setting up and operating the Endo-Fix handheld device.
Above all the safety instructions in this manual must be followed carefully by
anyone who wants to work with the Endo-Fix handheld device. This device is
not suitable for children and mentally or physically disabled persons.
Additionally, location-specific safety rules and regulations must also be followed
when operating this device.
Make sure you always keep the operating instructions or manual together with
the Endo-Fix handheld device.
Safety regulations regarding the workplace
• Keep your workplace clean and tidy. Disorder can lead to accidents.
• Do not operate the handheld device close to explosive materials in an area
that contains flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electric devices can cause
sparks that can ignite flammable or explosive material.
• The handset should be kept away from children.
Safety regulations regarding the handling of electrical devices
Follow the safety instructions below to significantly reduce the risk of an
electric shock.
• The main plug on the tool must fit into the socket. The plug should not be
manipulated in any way. Only use plug adapters with prior approval from the
Endo-Fix dealer.
• Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, heaters, stoves
and refrigerators.
• Keep the device away from rain or wet conditions. No water should penetrate
the Endo-fix handheld device.
• Do not abuse the electric cord of the Endo-Fix handheld device for the pur-
pose of carrying it, hanging it up, or in order to pull the plug from the socket.
Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
• If you use the Endo-Fix handheld device to work outdoors, use an extension
cord suitable for outdoor use.
• If operating the Endo-Fix handheld device in a humid or wet environment is
unavoidable, use a fault-current circuit breaker.
