Functions and features
The encoder transforms rotational movement into pulse sequences.
They allow the measurement of linear distances and angular move-
ments as well as the detection of positions.
•
Supply voltage and resolution (pulses per revolution) as indicated on
the type label
•
Pulse frequency 300 kHz (5 V version) and 160 kHz (10...30 version)
•
Max. permissible rpm mechanical: 10,000 rpm
•
Max. permissible rpm electrical (f
(f
= pulse frequency of the encoder or max. input frequency of
max
the external electronics in Hz; Z = resolution)
Installation
Disconnect power. The drive must not be started during installa-
tion.
1. Place the clamping nut (1) on the encoder.
2. Slip the encoder onto the shaft (min. 5 mm, max. 21 mm) and fix
the stator coupling by means of four M3 screws (2).
3. Tighten the screws (1) of the clamping nut.
The encoder shaft must not be hit; do not use a file or a similar
tool on the shaft, it could destroy the unit.
