This notice is intended for users of RCBC and its belay devices. It must be read and understood by each person before using the product. In
case of doubt, comprehension problem, or if a problem arises and its subject is not dealt with in this document, contact the VERTIC
representative or directly with the VERTIC technical service. These instructions must always be available and accessible by the user. It is
essential for the safety of the user, if the product is sold outside the first country of destination, that the reseller provides the user manual, the
instructions for maintenance, for the periodic examinations as well as the instructions relating to repairs, written in the language of the country
in which the product is used. Any activity at height is dangerous and can cause accidents, serious injury or death. It is your responsibility to
practice and learn the techniques of using the appropriate equipment. Before using the product, you must therefore read and understand all
the information contained in the user manual. Failure to heed any of these warnings can result in serious injury or death. For safety reasons,
the user must be in good health, not be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or drugs. Workers using personal protective equipment should
receive appropriate training.
The RCBC has the particularity of being able to secure the progression of the user along the rail over an angular range of 0 to 90 °
When used between 0 and 75 °:
The RCBC and its belay support form PPE conforming to standard EN 353-1 + A1 2017 and to PPE regulation EU 2016/425
The user must connect his harness conforming to EN 361, by the sternal attachment point to the mobile fall arrester using the integrated
connector conforming to EN 362.
The link incorporates a textile energy absorber limiting the impact force in the event of a fall. Please note that the length of the connection
element must not be lengthened or shortened, for example by adding or removing a connector.
During the first 2 meters, the user may not be protected against falls to the ground; additional precautions should therefore be taken during
ascent or descent.
The trolley is designed to be used by a single person with a minimum weight of 50 kg (tools and equipment not included) and maximum of 150
kg (tools and equipment included)
The belay support is designed to be used by three people simultaneously, each must have their own RCBC trolley and they must respect a
minimum safety distance of 3 meters between them.
When used between 75 ° and 90 °:
The RCBC and its belay support form an anchoring system in accordance with EN 795 class D: 2012 and CEN / TS 16415: 2013.
This system is designed to stop the fall of one or more responders and should not be used to lift loads.
To minimize the height of fall, the lifeline should preferably be as high as possible in relation to the user's work area.
The system must be used in combination with a set of PPE compliant and compatible with the on-site configuration, they must not be damaged
so as not to affect the system's security function.
The stopping distance of the fall arrest link used must be compatible with the available clearance of the site.
Calculation of the air draft:
If an adjustable link is used, the user will take care to optimize the length in order to limit the possible height of fall and reduce the pendulum
risk.
The user must connect his harness, via the sternal attachment point to the mobile fall arrester using the integrated connector or directly to
the plastic stirrup if the fall arrest link already includes a absorber.
The belay support is designed to be used by three people simultaneously between each intermediate support, each must have their own RCBC
Whatever the angle of use:
The carriage connects and disconnects at the ends of the rail (1 - 2) or at the level of an opening part ref. R.RO (3-6). These actions should be
performed in a safe position, or using a separate personal protection system. The trolley has been designed to move freely on the rail without
manual intervention (7): holding the locking mechanism or handling the trolley during movement can prevent the blocking in the event of a
fall. Do not hold the cart.
The carriage locks in the event of a fall by action of the cam on the rail (8) To unlock the carriage, pull the connector in the opposite direction
to the fall (9), if necessary push the button to help unlocking (10) .
The belay device has no length limit. All points of the rigid belay support at which the mobile fall arrester could exit must be equipped with a
R.EXTF or R.BE stop
After use, never leave the trolley connected to the rail, clean it (see § maintenance) then store it in the waterproof pouch provided. Take care
to protect it from shock, humidity and excessive temperatures (+ 10 ° C / + 40 ° C) during transport or storage.
