❐ This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised
or have received instruction on how to use the device safely and have understood the
dangers resulting from this. Children may not play with the device. Cleaning and user
maintenance may not be performed by children, unless they are older than 8 years of age
and are supervised.
❐ ATTENTION! Hot surfaces! Parts of the appliance can be very hot while it is being used or
immediately thereafter. Always use oven cloths or kitchen gloves when opening the lid, tak-
ing out foodstuff or the steamer insert or when adding food. Only hold the food container
on the handle!
❐ ATTENTION Risk of scalding due to steam emission! Be careful when opening the lid. Hot
steam can escape.
❐ ATTENTION! Risk of cutting! The stirrer blade in the food container is very sharp! Be care-
ful when removing, inserting or cleaning it.
❐ Keep your hair, hands and other parts of your body away from the appliance when using it
and also thereafter! Be particularly careful when handling the appliance while it contains hot
liquid.

❐ The appliance can be affl icted by product residues. Clean it thoroughly before fi rst use and
after every use, in order to avoid health impairment. Please read the related tips in the chap-
ter "Cleaning and storage".
❐ Only use fresh food, of which the best-before date has not yet expired.

Correct installation and connection

❐ Only use and store the appliance out of reach of children. The power cable should be out of
reach of children. They could pull down the appliance with the cable.
❐ Only use the appliance in closed rooms.
❐ Always install the appliance with clear space on a dry, level, solid and heat-resistant base.
❐ Maintain suffi cient clearance to other heat sources e. g. hot plates or ovens, in order to avoid
damage to the appliance.
❐ Install the appliance in a position where neither the appliance, the power cable nor the plug
can drop into or get into contact with water or other liquids, in order to avoid electrical
shock.
❐ The appliance should never be installed and used in the vicinity of fl ammable materials (cur-
tains, textiles, etc.).
❐ Never operate the appliance on a hob or in the vicinity of a gas source.
❐ Only connect the appliance to a correctly installed plug socket, equipped with a ground fault
interrupter. The plug socket must be accessible after connection. The mains voltage must
correspond to the technical specifi cations of the appliance. Only use proper extension cables
of which the technical specifi cations correspond to those of the appliance.
