Cleaning and decalcifying

ATTENTION!
The permanent fi lter and the permanent fi lter holder are hot after use! Let them cool
off before removing them for cleaning.
Never submerge the device, the mains cord or the plug in water.
Prior to each cleaning, pull the plug out of the socket.
The device is not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher.
When cleaning, do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaners. They could damage
the surface.
1. Ensure that the device is switched off and disconnected from the power supply!
2. Take the permanent fi lter and the permanent fi lter holder out of the fi lter compart-
ment and dispose of the used coffee pad/coffee grounds.
3. Clean the permanent fi lter, permanent fi lter holder and thermo cup with hot water
and, if necessary, a small amount of mild detergent.
4. Then dry the permanent fi lter, permanent fi lter holder and thermo cup.
5. Place the permanent fi lter and the permanent fi lter holder back in the coffee maker
once they are completely dry.
6. When needed, wipe off the coffee maker with a damp cloth and dry it with a dry cloth.
Decalcifying
You should decalcify the device if water is only circulating very slowly or the device is
making more noise than usual during the brewing process. Use a commercially-availa-
ble decalcifi er for coffee makers for decalcifi cation.
1. Fill the water tank with a mixture of water and decalcifi er and turn the device on.
Consult the decalcifi er instruction manual to determine the correct ratio of water to
decalcifi er.
2. Let the mixture completely circulate through the device. Repeat the process if the
water still circulates slowly.
3. After you have fi nished decalcifying the device, allow water to circulate through the
device at least three times (without coffee grounds/a coffee pad) in order to rinse
the lines etc.
