POSSIBLE CAUSE
No supply of power
Brushes worn or sticking
Switch is faulty
Motor components faulty or short
circuited
Blunt or damaged cutter
Variable speed set low
Motor is overloaded
Mechanical obstruction
Armature has shorted sections
Bent cutter shank
Brushes not moving freely
Armature short circuited or open circuited
Commutator dirty
Plunge lock engaged
Plunge selector button is engaged
Reached end of adjustment range.
Plunge lock lever not correctly positioned
Router is plunged to full depth - in collet
lock position
Power switch "On"
REMEDY
Check that power is available at source
Disconnect power, open brush caps and ensure
brushes move freely in the holders. Check whether
the brushes require replacing - see Page 9
