Before Initial Use
1. Remove any protective fi lms and transport restraints that may be present from the
device. Never remove the rating plate and any possible warnings!
2. To remove any possible production residues, fi ll the kettle up to the MAX marking with
drinking water before you fi rst use it and switch on the 3-minute boil function. To do
this, follow the instructions in the "Use" chapter. Pour away this water, do not drink
it! Repeat this process twice.
Do not pour any cold water into the hot kettle to prevent material damage! Allow
the kettle to cool down before fi lling it.
3. Clean the kettle (6), lid (10), ring insert (1) and tea strainer (7) in the manner de-
scribed in the "Cleaning and Care" chapter.
4. The kettle is now ready for operation!

CAUTION – Danger of scalding from hot steam! Be careful when pouring out hot
water.

CAUTION – Danger of scalding! The device should only be used out of the reach
of small children and animals. The mains cable must also be kept out of the reach of
children. Otherwise they might use the cable to pull the device down on themselves.

If tea has been made in the kettle, rinse it out with clear water straight away to prevent
any deposits. Note the "Cleaning and Care" chapter to do this.
If the kettle has accidentally been operated without any water in it, it switches
itself off automatically. Allow it to cool down before using it again.
Setting Up and Filling

1. Wind up or unwind the mains cable on the bottom of the
base station (4) to the length you want and then place it
in the slot which is provided for it on the edge of the base
station.
2. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed socket that
is easily accessible.
3. Set up the base station in a suitable place, noting the safe-
ty instructions.
4. Remove the lid (10) from the kettle (6).
