Use the kettle only with the base station provided. Do not use
■
the base station with other devices.
Never exceed the maximum fi ll level (note the MAX marking on
■
the water level indicator!). If the kettle is overfi lled, boiling water
could escape from the pouring spout.
Do not make any modifi cations to the device. Also do not re-
■
place the mains cable yourself. If the kettle, the base station,
the mains cable or the mains plug are damaged, they must be
replaced by the manufacturer, customer service department or
a specialist workshop in order to avoid any hazards.
The device is not designed to be operated with an external timer
■
or a separate remote control system.
Note the cleaning instructions in the "Cleaning and Care" chap-

ter!
DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock from Water
■ Use and store the device only in closed rooms. Do not operate the device in rooms
with high humidity.
■ Should the base station fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately. Do
not attempt to pull it out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power!
Have the base station and the kettle checked in a specialist workshop before using
it again.
■ Never touch the base station, the mains cable and the mains plug with wet hands
when these components are connected to the mains power.
■ Take the kettle off the base station to fi ll it, pour water or clean it. Make sure that no
water gets into the contacts on the bottom of the kettle.
WARNING – Danger of Fire
■ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable or explosive substances.
■ Do not operate the device in the vicinity of combustible material. Do not place any
combustible materials (e.g. cardboard, paper or plastic) on or in the device.
■ Do not connect the device along with other consumers (with a high wattage) to a mul-
tiple socket in order to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit (fi re).
■ Do not cover the device during operation in order to prevent it from catching fi re.
■ In the event of a fi re: Do not extinguish with water! Smother the fl ames with a fi re
blanket or a suitable fi re extinguisher.
WARNING – Danger of Injury
■ Danger of strangulation! Make sure that the mains cable is always kept out of the
reach of small children and animals.
