Danger of scalding!
– Avoid coming into contact with the steam rising up from the pouring spout. Do not
open the lid during the boiling process. Allow the device to cool down before fi lling
it again!
– Pour out boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the device too quickly.
– Do not move the device during the boiling process.
– The mains cable must not hang down from the surface on which the device is
placed in order to prevent the device from being pulled down.
■
Danger of tripping! Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a
trip hazard.
NOTE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property
■
The base station should only be connected to a properly installed plug socket with
safety contacts. The socket must be readily accessible so that the connection to the
mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must be the same as that stated
in the technical data for the base station. Only use suitable extension cables whose
technical data is the same as that of the base station.
■
Remove the mains plug if a fault occurs during operation or before a thunderstorm.
■
Always check the device for damage before putting it into operation. The device
should only be used when it is fully assembled, undamaged, and in working order!
■
Always place the base station on a dry, even, fi rm and heat-resistant surface. Do not
place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising steam could
cause damage to them!
■
Do not place the device on or next to heat sources such as hobs or ovens. Keep
naked fl ames, e.g. burning candles, away from the device, the mains cable and the
mains plug.
■
Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, persistent moisture, direct sun-
light or impacts.
■
Do not operate the device without water or with less water than is required to reach
the MIN marking. If this does happen, the device switches off automatically. In this
case, allow the device to cool down before cold water is poured in and the device is
switched on.
■
Allow the kettle to cool down before it is fi lled with cold water to prevent glass break-
age.
■
Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces (e.g. of the device).
■
When the mains plug is removed from the plug socket, always pull on the mains plug
and never the mains cable. Do not pull or carry the base station by the mains cable.
■
Never place any heavy objects on the kettle, the base station, the mains cable or the
mains plug.
■
Use only original spare parts from the manufacturer. If accessory parts which are not
authorised by the manufacturer are used, all warranty and guarantee claims are void.
■
Do not use the device if it has malfunctioned, fallen or been dropped in water. Have
it checked in a specialist workshop before using it again.
■
The surfaces of furniture may possibly contain elements which can attack and soften
the adjustable feet of the base station. If necessary, place a suitable pad below the
adjustable feet.
