11.3 Charging the flash capacitor

The output of the studio flash unit is
reduced if the capacity of the flash capacitor
decreases.
This happens if the studio flash unit has only
been used with low flash output or has not
been used at all for an extended period of
time.

To achieve the optimum output of the studio
flash unit once again, you must fully charge
the flash capacitor for at least 30 minutes:
• Press power switch

• Press on the touchscreen.

11.4 Replacing the flash tube/bulb

Flash tubes/bulb are wearing parts that lose
their power after quite a few flashes and
have to be replaced.
Observe the following safety instructions
before and during replacement of the
flash tube/bulb because of a DANGER OF
ELECTRIC SHOCK, BURNS AND CUTS:
All maintenance work must be carried out
only with tools insulated in accordance with
IEC 60900.
First, discharge the capacitor of the studio
flash unit; to do so:
- move the power switch
of the studio
flash unit to (ON).
- press the button
to discharge the
capacitor by triggering the flash; then
immediately move the power switch
the studio flash unit to (OFF).
The power switch must be pressed within
half a second; otherwise, the capacitor
undergoes recharging.
- Remove the power plug from the outlet.
- After switching the unit off, wait one hour
before removing the flash tube.
