6.2 COMPLETE APPLICATION
RANGE
Your washing machine was designed to wash
synthetic fabrics, woollens, cottons and
linens. Choose your cycle by the appropriate
push-button as suggested on the labels
attached to the garments.
6.3 INFORMATION ABOUT THE
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
The built-in electrical equipment is composed
of protection and control devices that are
lodged on a plate, in the upper part of the
machine. The relevant wiring diagrams and
lists are attached further on.
6.4 STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE
The washing machine described in this
booklet complies with the following
Directives:

7. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND
ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
7.1 OPERATION
Make sure that the cold and hot water taps
are open.
Turn ON the automatic thermomagnetic
cutoff switch on the wall (turn the latter to
position 1). If the door is closed, the machine
will then be ready to be started using the
START push-button on the machine front
panel.
To select the cycle, open the door by the
appropriate handle and press on the "SEL"
push-button. The display will show program
number: to confirm it just close the door.
Otherwise, press the SEL push-button again
and again until the display reads the desired
cycle number.
After you have chosen your cycle following
the temperature and wash action suggested
by the labels attached to the garments (see
cycles below), sort the laundry according to
the type of fabric, put it into the drum and
close the door.
Loading the machine with less than 80%
of its rated capacity may hinder correct
operation and even cause damage.
Then fill the various dispenser compartments
with soap (foam-damping type) according
to cycle selection, i.e.:
17
A prewash compartment (when scheduled
by the wash cycle selected)
B main wash compartment
C compartment for other products to be
added during the last rinse
Then select water level, which ranges
between the factory setting (calculated
following the maximum laundry load) and a
20% reduction that may apply to partial
loads or economy cycles.
Start the program pressing the green
"START" push-button, which is on the
control panel, on the right.
The door will automatically be locked and
cycle progress will be shown by the leds on
the left of the control panel (see 7.1).
Pressure on the start push-button also causes
the timer to commence the countdown to the
end of the cycle (see also function F9 in
paragraph 7.3 SETTINGS).
Such time values are those that the
machine has stored in previous equivalent
cycles. Therefore they are not binding but
represent a mere reference.
Each time the push-buttons are pressed the
machine will beep shortly and it will beep
for 15 seconds at the end of the cycle. It is
however possible to stop the buzzer by
pressing the "_" push button or even inhibit
the buzzer altogether through programming
(see 7.3, function F5).
How to change a cycle in progress
If a wrong cycle has been started it is possible
to change the selection within the first two
minutes of operation. The display showing
the cycle number actually blinks for two
minutes after cycle start, to indicate that it is
possible to change the selection by pressing
the SEL push-button. After the SEL button
is pressed the next cycle will start and again
it will be possible to switch to the next
selection until the desired cycle is reached.
Cycle change occurs quickly after the SEL
push-button is pressed and repeated starts
and stops are avoided.
Alarm and fault signalling
When faults arise (voltage drop,
overtemperature, water level error) the
washing machine notifies the user by a
number of alarms that appear on the front
panel DISPLAY. All alarm details are dealt
with in the "ALARMS" chapter.
How to correct tub water level reading
Under normal conditions, water level reading
needn't be corrected, but when special
installation factors like elevation ask for it, it
is possible to set the zero level value in the
tub as follows:
1) Open the door.
2) Check that the tub is empty visually.
3) Hold
the "+" and "-" keys down
simultaneously for at least 5 seconds.
4) The DISPLAY will read "CA LI b"
