Pictogrammes are graphic symbols with a predetermined
significance. You will find the following pictogrammes in
these installation and operating instructions:
Offset antenna = certain form of a reflector antenna
consists of a parabolic reflector, feed rod and the feed
system (LNC).
LNC = Low Noise Converter
Mounted in the focal point of the reflector antenna.
Converts the electromagnetic waves radiated by the satellite
into a signal which can be processed by the satellite receiver.
terr. programmes = terrestrial programmes are programmes
which can be received via the normal antenna (not "dish").
Feed rod = A mecanical mounting device for the LNC.
Assures the proper'seating' of the LNC in the focal point of
LNC
the reflector antenna.
LO = Local Oscillator is an electrical component in the LNC
which, together with the satellite broadcast frequency ,
accomplishes the conversion into a signal that can be
processed by the receiver. The physical unit of measurement
is expressed in MHz or GHz.
