FUNCTIONING PRINCIPLE

The module allows the exchange with the domestic heater coupled with the heat generated by the gas heater (or something similar), usually
the heat created through an alternative method (wood). This is possible thanks to a thermal interchanger that allows that the heat transfers
between the two hydraulically separated circuits, one from a closed vessel and one from an open vessel (usually a wood-burning stove).
In order to make this, the kit is provided with:
- Two circulators, C1 and C2.
- A plate exchanger. (Hydraulic spacer)
- A diverter valve.
- An electronic regulator.
For the proper operation of the KIT-2 it is necessary a water temperature control system for the alternative heating source (wooden thermo-
fireplace) in order to activate the module when it gets the
wished temperature.
This module is available in the version with a regulator provided
made with a power card IOC-S and a control of communication
with the user HID FIRE BASIC.
KIT-2 is available with the provided regulator HID FIRE BASIC.
Operation with the provided regulator IOC-S and HID FIRE
BASIC
The device for the water temperature control of the alternative
heating source can activate the module to the desired
temperature. The electronic regulator has two adjust level of
the temperature (HID FIRE BASIC) and thanks to that:
The heating chimney circulator (C1) is active when the first
threshold temperature is reached.
The three-ways valve diverts the water flow provided for
the heating chimney to the heating circuit when the second
threshold temperature is reached. At the same time, the
circulator of the heating circuit (C2) is activated. In this phase,
an electrical contact placed on the socket of the internal
electronic card of the IOC-S (AUX output) is open. This function
(connected as shown in chapter "Electric Schema"), in series
with the ambient thermostat contact of the gas/gas oil boiler
avoids that it should be activated for an eventual heating
demand.
This regulator contributes to avoid formation of condensation
caused by the hard drop of return temperature regards to the
flow.

INSTALLING AND CONNECTING

Security advice: make sure that the net tension is disconnected before connecting the module to the electrical network.
Installation
This equipment must be installed on a wall, inside the house and its placement must be as close as possible to reduce the pipes circuit.
• Proximity to the wood-burning chimney.
• Proximity to the installation net of the existent heating.
It is necessary to save a free space inside in order to make reading of tools and the maintenance interventions so that it is possible to the
access the module. However, KIT-2 has no particular limitations for the aeration conditions and the room volume.
General warnings
- The insertion of the module in a hydraulic circuit of users must be made by following the current rules about safety in domestic heating
installations fed by solid fuel with a total power <35 kW that use water as heat flow transmitter and a temperature lower than 110ºC
(Norm UNI 10412-2) or in conformity to the laws and rules of every country.
- Installation, connection, reception and maintenance interventions or repairs must be made by a qualified technician who works by
following the current rules and local requirements and the instructions manual.
- Responsibility of manufacturer of the module is limited to the supply of the equipment.
- The manufacturer will not be responsible for any fail, damage or breakage caused by the module in case of an improper installation,
modification or the use of non-original spare parts.
