8. Turn on the heater unit. Refer to the operator's manual for
the heater unit electronic control module.
Shut Down the Heater Unit
Refer to the operator's manual for the heater unit electronic
control module.
NOTICE The heater unit must go through a cool down
cycle before shutting down. Shutting down the heater
unit before the cool down cycle completes could result in
damage to the heater unit.
Remote Thermostat
A remote thermostat (not supplied, available from Allmand)
can be used to control the temperature in an enclosed area
where the ducting is routed. The thermostat starts the heater
unit when the air inside the enclosed area drops below the
set temperature, and shuts the heater unit down when the air
reaches the set temperature.
Each heater unit requires its own remote thermostat.
To use:
1. Make sure that the engine and heater units are shut
down.
2. Open the control panel door.
3. Open the cover of the thermostat receptacle (A, Figure
20) and connect the thermostat.
4. Put the thermostat where you want to control the
temperature.
5. Start the engine. See Operate the Engine.
6. Start the heater unit. See Start the Heater Unit.
7. When heating operation is complete:
A. Shut down the heater unit. See Shut Down the
Heater Unit.
B. Shut down the engine.

C. Disconnect the remote thermostat from the
receptacle.
D. Close the receptacle cover.

Heater Unit Faults
The electronic control module for the heater units will
display heater unit faults. Refer to the electronic control
module operator's manual for more information.
Below are basic heater unit faults and how to correct them.
Fault: Burner has failed to ignite.
• Find out why the burner has not ignited. Repair the
problem or see your dealer.
• Push and hold the burner reset button (A, Figure 21) to
reset the burner.
• Push the heater main switch (A, Figure 1) to reset the
heater unit.

Fault: Heater unit has overheated.
• The overheat light (A, Figure 22) will turn on.
• Find out why the heater unit has overheated. Repair the
problem or see your dealer.
• Remove the cover on the high temperature reset button
(B, Figure 22) and push the button. Install the cover.
• Push the heater main switch (A, Figure 1) to reset the
heater unit.
