1. Introduction & Features
Thank you for buying the VTBAL1! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. Make
sure that the device was not damaged in transit. If the device is damaged, you should contact your dealer.
2. Operation manual
a. Keyboard
1. ON/OFF key (at the right): to turn the scales on or off.
2. TARE key (left bottom): to reset any value to zero. Also used for calibration.
3. "g/oz" key (left top): to change the weighing unit from grams to ounces and vice versa.
b. Specifications
1. Number of digits: maximum 4
2. Decimals: 1 in gram mode, 3 in ounce mode
3. Maximum weight: approx. 150g or 5.3oz
4. Weighing precision: 0.1g or 0.001oz
5. Weighing speed: ± 2 seconds
6. Auto shutdown: after 60 seconds
c. Operation
1. ON/OFF: insert the batteries and place the scales on a stable and level base. Push the ON/OFF key ; the display
will read "8888" ; after 3 to 6 seconds, it will read "0.0", which means the scales are in weighing state.
2. Low voltage indication: if the scales measure the voltage is lower than 5.2V upon activation, "Lo" is displayed and
the scales will auto power down in 2 seconds. If the low voltage is measured during weighing, a battery icon will
be shown, which means the batteries should be changed to ensure accurate weighing.
3. Overload display: the device will display "Err" when the weight on the scales exceeds 150g/5.3oz.
4. Auto hold function: when the reading is stable for ± 2 seconds, the auto hold icon "H" will be shown in the top left
corner of the display, and it will disappear after 5 seconds or when the weighing value varies over ±1g or 0.03oz.
5. Auto off: the scales are automatically turned off when the reading remains stable for 60 seconds.
6. TARE: When activated, the scales will consider whatever weight is on them as value "0.0". You can also place a
recipient on the scales after activation and then reset the value of the recipient to zero by pressing the TARE key.
The TARE function can be used repeatedly, even with negative readings.
7. Unit switching: Select the measuring unit (grams (g) or ounces (oz)) using the "g/oz" key.
d. Calibration
1. Turn the scales on.
2. Place the provided standard weight on the scales and wait for the weight to stabilise.
3. Hold the TARE key for more than 5 seconds to initiate the calibration process.
4. The digits "100.0" will be showed one by one from left to right and then the full number will blink once.
5. The calibration is now finished.
