Recommended separation distances between portable and mobile
RF communications equipment and the mattress.
The mattress is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in
which radiated RF disturbances are controlled. The customer or the user
of the mattress can help prevent electromagnetic interference by
maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF
communications equipment (transmitters) and the mattress as
recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the
communications equipment.

For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the
recommended separation distance d in meters (m) can be estimated
using the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter, where P
is the maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W)
according to the transmitter manufacturer.
NOTE 1 At 80 MHZ and 800 MHz, the separation distance for the higher
frequency range applies.
NOTE 2 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic
propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures,
objects and people.
13. Troubleshooting
The following list will assist you with the
troubleshooting of your mattress:
• Is there a power supply (correct voltage 230V)?
• Is the compressor switched "ON"?
• Is the plug of the power cable connected
correctly?
• Are the air hoses to the mattress and
compressor connected or connected correctly?
• Are there any kinks in the air hoses?
• Is the mattress damaged?
Contact your specialist dealer, it the problem stays.
Never try to repair the mattress yourself. Fuse may
only replaced by qualified and authorized
personnel.
Remove the plug, in case of any damage.
14. Care
This is a reference procedure to clean and
decontaminated the mattress, it is important to
follow these procedures before using the mattress
on patients.
Compressor
• Do not immerse or soak the compressor.
• Check for external damage and move the
compressor to the cleaning area.
• Place the compressor on a work surface and
spray or wipe the outside of the case with
quaternary ammonium solution, DO NOT spray

any cleaning solution directly on the surface of
the compressor.
• DO NOT use a Hydrocarbonate or Phenolic
based cleaning solution as this may cause
damage to the case, Allow the solution to
incubate for 10 minutes or according to the
package insert from the manufacturer.
• Wipe case with a clean cloth, etc.. make sure all
areas are clean (top, both sides and bottom).
• Spray cloth with cleaning solution and clean
front panel. DO NOT allow excess cleaning
solution on front panel. (If solution gets inside
damage will occur!) Allow surface to thoroughly
dry after cleaning.
• After compressor is thoroughly dry after
cleaning.
• After compressor is thoroughly cleaned and
dried, proceed to plug in the compressor and
test the compressor to see if it runs normally.
Mattress
• Brush off or wipe down all surfaces with soap
and water before wetting with any liquid
disinfectant.
• Brush or wipe down all surfaces with soap and
water before applying with any liquid.
• After pre-soaking, the cover is rinsed through a
regular cycle in a washer with no soap, then
laundered with mild detergent.
• Repeat the process with the tubing set, spray,
incubate, and then wipe clean,
• Allow it to thoroughly air dry, Once the inside is
dry, turn it back wipe down the outside of the
cover with disinfectant.
• Dry the mattress on SUNLESS area after
cleaning.
15. Disinfection
Disinfections may only be undertaken by a skilled
sanitation employee or a person trained by him/her.
Consult your specialist dealer.
For sterilisation use only disinfectants suitable for
treating varnished metal. Observe the instructions
of the cleaning liquid used. Use only proved
processes
(for
disinfectants included in the list of the Robert Koch
Institute
(information
www.rki.de).
16. Repairs / Service / Inspection
Lifetime of the mattress is influenced by its use,
storage,
regular
cleaning.
You
should
use
replacement parts. Repairs and renovations may
only be undertaken by trained persons. Make use of
the services offered by your specialist dealer. He
would gladly assist you further in regard to service
and repairs.
