5.2 Controls
5.2.1 Potentiometer
The potentiometer allows the speed limit to be
set. The potentiometer can only be adjusted with
a screwdriver that avoids accidentally adjusting
it. The speed limit can be set from 0km/hr to the
maximum speed. Once adjusted and after making
sure that no one is near by, push the motorbike
onto the kickstand so that the back wheel is
suspended. With the bike in this position, accele-
rate to the maximum to verify that the top speed
reached by the motorbike is the speed previously
set. Always carry out this verification, do not rely
on guessing the set speed since the potentiometer
is not completely linear.
The potentiometer should not be adjusted with
other people around. Always verify the speed
limit, do not rely on guessing the set speed since
the potentiometer is not completely linear. If the
ignition is turned on when the accelerator is activa-
ted, the Mecatecno will suddenly accelerate in a
dangerous way. The driver should turn the ignition
key with his/her right hand to avoid touching the
accelerator.
