visibility and light to see clearly.
- Stop the engine before setting the chainsaw
I
down.
- Be particularly cautious and alert when
wearing ear protectors, as these can restrict
GB
your ability to hear sounds indicating danger
(shouts, signals, warnings, etc.)
- Be extremely careful when working on slopes
F
or uneven surfaces.
- Do not cut above chest height, as a saw held
higher is difficult to control against kickback
D
forces.
- Do not cut from a ladder, this is extremely
dangerous.
E
- Stop the saw if the chain strikes a foreign
object. Inspect the saw and repair parts as
necessary.
SK
- Keep the chain out of dirt and sand. Even a
small amount of dirt will quickly dull a chain
and increase the possibility of kickback.
- Always keep the handles dry and clean.
P
- When cutting a limb that is under tension, be
alert for springback so you will not be struck
when the tension in the wood fibre is released.
GR
- Take great care when cutting small branches or
shrubs which can block the chain, be thrown
back towards you or cause you to lose your
TR
balance.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USING THE MACHINE
CZ
1. The specially shaped handgrip on the
machine calls for particular care when dealing
RUS
with kickback.
UK
2. Extreme care should be taken at the end of a
cutting operation in relation to the machine
suddenly dropping. This eventuality is difficult
PL
to control with this type of handgrip.
3. Attention should be paid to chain sliding.
Instead of penetrating the tree trunk, the
chain may slide forward and the operator will
not be able to fully control this action.
4. Tree maintenance operators must be trained
i n the cor re c t op erative tech n i qu es
concerning safety at work, i.e.: headgear,
32
safety harnesses, cables and spring-clips, as
well as all of the other safety devices that are
n or mall y use d and m ust b e t rai ne d
professionally in tree climbing.
5. The ISO 11681-2 regulation permits that, in
hands of a trained operator, it can be used an
one hand, carefully using a safe way of work
(only for tree surgery). For all other
operations it is compulsory to use it with
t wo h a n d s i n t h e s a m e w a y a s a
conventional chain saw.
WARNING! - WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND
NOT TO USE THIS CHAIN SHOW WITH ONE
HAND ONLY.
Using the chain saw with only one hand is
ex t r e m e l y d a n g e r o u s , a s t h i s w i l l
significantly increase the possible occurrence
of the dangers listed (1÷4) above.
6. Release machine from hook point while
refuelling.
8. MAINTENANCE
WARNING - Always wear protective gloves
during maintenance operations. Do not
carry out maintenance when the engine is hot.
CHAIN SHARPENING
The pitch of the chain is ¼"x.050" of 3/8"x.050".
Sharpen the chain using protective gloves and a
round file of Ø 4 mm (5/32").
WARNING - Do not fit tho chain ¼" on the
3/8" pinion or vice versa.
Always sharpen the cutters only with outward
strokes observing the values given in Fig. 23.
After sharpening, the cutting links must all have
the same width and length.
