GENERAL INFORMATION

General
These are the mounting instructions for the Novy hood shown on the cover. The user manual is a separate booklet that
is also delivered with this hood. Carefully read these instructions before the installation and commissioning of the wall-
mounted chimney hood. It is recommended that the installation is carried out by one or more qualified persons.
Carefully take the hood from the packaging.
The hood must only be fitted above a cooking plate and/or domino, and it is only intended for household use.
Important before mounting
Page 2 of these mounting instructions show the mounting drawings. Observe the following mounting tips before starting
the mounting activities:
• For easier mounting, it is recommended a minimum of 2 persons install the wall-mounted chimney hood.
• Check if all mounting materials have been supplied using the drawings on page 2.
• Position the electrical socket so that it is behind the shafts of the extractor.
• Ensure the wall has sufficient load-bearing capacity.
• The protective foil on the stainless steel can be removed from the wall-mounted chimney hood or shafts before mount-
ing. Avoid damaging the stainless steel.
InTouch
InTouch provides the ability to operate the Novy hood from the Novy InTouch induction hob.
A set can be ordered from Novy, which makes the hood react directly to the operation of the cooking plate.
This set contains a remote control as standard. Check the website for the various models of
induction hobs with InTouch.
Determine the suspension height of the hood; the distance between the underside and the work surface should
1
be at least 500 mm. This means the distance between the flat side (1) of the cut-out in the suspension bracket
(2) and the work surface (3) must be 848 mm. If the air exhaust must be directed towards the rear, a round hole
with an appropriate diameter must be made in the wall at a centre distance of 941.5 mm to the work surface. See
"CHANGING THE DIRECTION OF THE HOOD OUTLET"
Mark the wall with the holes from the mounting bracket. Drill appropriately-sized holes. Attach the mounting bracket
2
to the wall using the screws and plugs provided.
Hang the hood on the mounting bracket. NOTE: both of the casing support profiles (4) must rest on the mounting
3
bracket rims (5) in order to ensure secure and stable attachment.
Remove the cover plate with chimney passage (6) and secure the hood against falling by attaching at least one
4
additional screw in the openings provided for this purpose (7).
Using a screwdriver, free the opening for the exhaust tube in the chimney lid passage (8). Connect the exhaust tube
5
mouth to the motor output mouth using a jubilee clip (9). See steps A through E for an outlet directed towards the rear.
Screw the lowest chimney section (10) to the cover (8) using the supplied screws (S1). Push the uppermost chimney
6
section (11) into the lowest chimney section and screw the cover on the casing (12).
Attach the chimney bracket (13) to the wall as close as possible to the ceiling. Insert the exhaust tube through the
7
already provided ceiling opening. Push the uppermost chimney section (11) up against the ceiling and attach the
chimney to the chimney bracket using the supplied screws
CHANGING THE DIRECTION OF THE HOOD OUTLET
