5. Assembling drill head
and basic element
• Insert drill head into basic element
• Using the clamping screw clamp securely
in the basic element
Note:
If a withdrawal groove is noticed after
machi ning in the bore, rotate the drill head
180 degrees.
Starting the bore and drilling out; moving
out of the bore
• It is not possible to start and drill out on an
inclined surface, the surface must be flat.
• After machining, move out of the bore with
spindle speed greatly reduced (min. 50 %
of working spindle speed) and with reduced
rapid traverse.
Precentering bore start and drilling out
surfaces
Precentering the bore start and drilling out
surfaces is not normally necessary.
For bore start and drilling out surfaces which
have not been machined, such as cast and
wrought materials, however, precentering is
an advantage. Please note that the maximum
centering x d1 must be less than the diameter
(d) of the central drill bit on the drill head.
