The working depth is adjusted by
means of the wheels. Raise the cul-
tivator on the tractor. The wheels
can be adjusted more easily.
On VF 2000 tighten the bolt (A)
after adjustment of the wheel.
On the larger cultivators with
wheels on the side extensions the
same adjustment on the middle
section and side extensions not al-
ways results in the same working
depth for all tines. The wheels on
the middle carry a greater weight
than the wheels of the side exten-
sions and consequently will go
deeper in loose soil.
Speed
It is extremely important that the
Vibro-Flex works at the right speed.
At speeds below 6 km/h, the tines
cannot vibrate with sufficient force.
The recommended speed is 8 - 12
km/h. At this speed the most effi-
cient tine vibrations are achieved -
and vibrations form the basis of the
Vibro-Flex function.
Turning
Never turn the cultivator so sharply
that tines are forced sideways and
backwards. It may result in loads
far in excess of what the tines are
designed for.
Backing
Never back with the tines in the
underground. The cultivator must
be raised to avoid the tines being
overloaded.
How to use the
spade roller
Working depth.
The working depth of the furrow
leveller is adjusted by means of the
spindles. Do not go deeper than
necessary to level the ridges of the
hindmost tines.
If the furrow leveller is set too deep
it will throw too much soil back into
the tine tracks, and the field will not
be level.
Never set the furrow leveller so
deep that the blade sections carry
the cultivator. This causes unstable
cultivator working depth.
Speed.
Go at a speed of 8 - 12 km/h. At
this speed both furrow leveller and
the cultivator will perform the best
job. If you go too slowly the furrow
leveller will not even out and mix so
efficiently.
Scraper for blade sections.
To prevent that the hub is filled up
with soil and thereby worn to
pieces, a scraper bolt is fitted on
either side of the hub.
Replace the scraper bolts when
they are so worn that they cannot
keep the hub clean.
Maintenance
Re-tightening.
On a new cultivator all bolts and
nuts are to be re-tightened after the
first working day. Apart from that
you should make sure that they are
tight at all times.
Greasing
The wheel hubs on the cultivator
are greased after every 25 hours of
work or at least once a week.
The blade sections of the furrow
leveller are factory-greased and
need no further greasing.
Tyre pressure
Tyre size
Tyre pressure
5.00 x 8
:
2,5 bar/36 psi
6.00 x 12
:
2,1 bar/30 psi
8.00 x 24, 10 ply :
4,5 bar/65 psi
The tyre size can be read on the
side of the tyre.
Change of shares: Raise the culti-
vator on the tractor lift, support the
frame, stop the tractor and apply
the handbrake before anybody
goes underneath to change the
shares.
Clean and lubricate the cultivator
after use. It prolongs its life.
