Important safety recommendations
Although the built-in induction cooktop features high quality and safety standards, injuries or damage due to
operating errors or improper use cannot be ruled out. Please note the safety recommendations marked by the
following symbols:

Failure to observe can lead to permanent injuries and/or major damage.

General safety recommendations
Danger!
Do not place any metallic objects such as utensils on the cooking surface. They could heat up and cause
severe burns.
Danger!
Never touch the cooking surface. The cookware transfers heat to the surface and this can cause burns.
Danger!
Do not place firmly closed containers such as canned goods on the induction cooktop. They can explode
and cause major injuries and damage.
Danger!
Burn hazard! When used improperly, i.e. when using improper heat sources such as the induction cooktop
in cooking mode (models 58 9840 25 31, 58 9841 25 31) instead of warming mode. The result can be
severe burns!
Danger!
Persons with pacemakers: Please consult your physician before using induction cooking and ensure that your
pacemaker is not affected by the magnetic induction field. Otherwise there is a risk of cardiac arrhythmia.
Danger!
Keep the induction cooktop clean at all times. Follow the cleaning directions in Chapter 7, the installation
instructions in Chapter 4.1, and the local hygiene regulations. Failure to observe them can lead to slight
to severe injuries.

The induction cooktop must be at a sufficient distance from flammable materials. Sufficient ventilation
must be ensured. In any event, the local fire and building code regulations must be observed.

Assure that this appliance will not be switched on by mistake by the wireless remote control.

Do not allow magnetic data media in the vicinity of the induction cooktop to prevent loss of data!

Simmering pots must be watched closely, as the liquid can boil away without being noticed.

If you use other electric appliances near the induction cooking surface, ensure that the power cords do
not come into contact with hot surfaces.
caution!
Do not place aluminum foil or plastic objects or other non heat-resistant materials on the ceramic
surface.
