3. Turn the operating switch MODE (2) clockwise to top heat, bottom heat or top/bottom
heat.
4. Set the temperature control TEMP (1) to the temperature you require. To do this, turn it
clockwise.
5. To start the baking process, use the TIMER (3) to set the desired time (maximum of 60
minutes).
If the operating switch or temperature control is set to OFF, the oven will not be
switched on.
6. When the set time has elapsed, a buzzer is heard and the device automatically stops any
further supply of heat. However, the timer button still keeps turning for a little while be-
fore it comes to a stop and the heating elements are switched off.
Then turn the operating switch and the temperature control to OFF.
7. If you want to stop the baking process early, turn the operating switch or the temperature
control to OFF, and the supply of heat will be switched off. Let the timer continue to run
until it reaches the 0 position.
8. Open the glass door and carefully remove the baking tray or rack. Always use potholders
or oven gloves to do this. Place the baking tray/rack on a heat-resistant surface.
9. Let the oven cool down. Then clean it and the accessories you have used (see the "Clean-
ing" section). Do not allow any food residues to dry on.

Grilling with the rotating spit

1. Remove the rack from the oven and place the baking tray directly on the bottom heating
elements to protect them from any fat dripping down. Do not switch the oven on yet!
2. Pick up the rotating spit (6). The rotating spit includes two holders which can fi x larger
items of food, e.g. chickens, in place. The holders are attached to the spit using the as-
sociated ring bolts. First slide one holder onto the spit (the ring bolt must be loosened to
do this), then the food and fi nally the second holder.
3. Slide the holders and the food into the middle of the spit and press the tips of the hold-
ers into the food.
4. Fix the holders in place by tightening the ring bolts.
5. Place the rotating spit onto the rotating spit gripper (5).
6. Now place the rotating spit in the oven: In the middle of the right-hand inner wall of the
oven you will fi nd an opening. Insert the tip of the spit into this opening. Then place the
free end of the spit into the bracket on the left-hand inner wall of the oven.
7. Close the glass door of the oven.
8. Turn the MODE operating switch clockwise to
PLEASE NOTE: If the bottom heating elements are covered, they must not
be switched on!
9. Set the temperature and grilling time you require. The oven is switched on and the spit
begins to rotate. Follow the instructions in the previous section "Baking", steps 4 to 7.
10. When the food is cooked, switch the oven off (if it has not already switched itself off
automatically).
11. Open the door and use the gripper to carefully lift the spit initially up out of the bracket
and then out of the opening.
