For "hypoglycaemia"
i.e. below 60 mg/dL (3.3 mmol/L)
Symptoms:
Sweating, shaking, blurred vision, rapid heart beat,
tingling or numbness in the mouth or fingertips.
What to do:
• If you notice one of these symptoms, perform a blood
glucose test.
• If the test result is under 60 mg/dL (3.3 mmol/L) and
you show symptoms of low blood glucose, consult
your doctor without delay.
• If the result does not match how you feel, follow
the steps described in "5.2.9 Unusual test results",
page 41.
5.2.12 Comparing your test result
to laboratory results
The question of how you can compare the blood
glucose level of the measuring system with tests
performed in the laboratory is frequently asked.
Your blood glucose level can change quickly, especial-
ly after a meal, after taking medicine or strenuous
activities. Your blood glucose is affected by various
factors and has different values at different times of the
day.
