Operating instructions
1. Introduction
Read through these operating instructions fully and carefully. The operating
instructions belong to this product and contain important points concerning
bringing the appliance into service and its operation.
Always pay attention to all safety instructions. Should you have any questions
or be unsure about operating the appliance ask a specialist. Keep these
instructions in a safe place and should the need arise pass them on to a third
party.

2. Proper use

The digital wireless video door intercom consists of outdoor station DVT-20K
and indoor station DVT-20M each with a mains adapter model
KSAFE1500150W1EU and KSAB0500100W1EU respectively. When the
doorbell button is pressed a chime is heard at the indoor station. After pressing
a button on the indoor station , two way hands free conversation in half duplex
mode is enabled. When the doorbell button is pressed, the camera installed in
the outdoor station is activated automatically and the camera image is
displayed on the monitor of the indoor station.
If there is sufficient light a colour picture will be displayed. At low ambient light
levels the integrated Infrared LEDs are automatically switched on to illuminate
the face of the person in front of the camera. The video picture also switches to
black and white mode for improved light sensitivity. Additional lighting can be
installed to improve the picture quality at low ambient light levels.
The video and audio transmission is wireless using a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The
wireless transmission is digital and on constantly changing frequencies
(frequency hopping) which are synchronised between the indoor and outdoor
stations. Only the indoor station which has been "paired" with the outdoor
station can receive the synchronised signals. This security feature prevents
access of the camera signal by third parties. It also means that it is not possible
to use more than one indoor station.
The outdoor station is for surface mounting and is weatherproof (Protection
class IP44), it can be mounted in a location outdoors which is sheltered from
direct rainfall. The indoor station and both mains adapters are for indoor use
only and must be protected from moisture. Alternative to the power supply from
the mains adapter (connected to a 230 V 50 Hz supply) the outdoor station can
be powered through 6 x AA batteries (not included). If the mains adapter is used
it is possible to connect an electric door release (12 V DC, max. 500 mA) which
can be activated from the indoor station. The power supply for the indoor station
is from the mains adapter connected to 230 V 50 Hz. An integrated
rechargeable lithium battery which is automatically charged through the mains
adapter enables portable usage.
If the outdoor station is powered through the mains adapter then it is possible to
activate the camera from the indoor station at any time
Through a software in the indoor station it is possible to make video and audio
recording automatically when the doorbell button is pressed. The recording is
made on an SD card (not included). Any other use or modification of the device
is not authorised. No liability will be accepted for consequential damages or for
damages caused by improper use or incorrect operation. No liability will be
accepted for consequential damages caused by any function or by malfunction.
Unless any liability is specifically required by law, claims for damages, in
particular those for personal injury or property damage caused by non-
functioning or malfunctioning of the machine, are excluded.
This appliance is not intended to be used by people (including children) with
restricted physical, sensory or mental capacities, or a lack of experience and/or
knowledge, unless they are supervised by, or receive instructions how to use the
appliance from a person responsible for their safety.
