Caution
Before setting up the instrument for use, absolutely read and observe
chapter "Safety instructions".

Preparations

Slit lamp

Set interpupillary distance of binocular tube.
•
Adjusting the eyepieces:
If you wear glasses, push the eyecups in and set dioptre setting ring
to 0 D. If necessary, consider any instrument myopia.
Other operators should pull the eyecups out and set their refractive
powers at the dioptre scale of the eyepieces.

Setting the diffusor:
Normally, keep the diffusor in the bottom position. Flip it up only, if
you need diffuse illumination for external examination of the eye.
Warning
Before moving the slit lamp towards the patient, make sure that the
diffusor (1, Fig. 22) on the prism head is in one of its vertical positions
(E) to avoid any eye injuries.
