6.2. Dispensing without Blow-Out

The blow-out function cannot be employed on the dispensing modes
(d, Sd). Therefore, it is recommended that dispensing is always performed
with the pipette/tip set against the wall of the container.
Note: To avoid dripping, the XL will automatically aspirate a small
amount of air after each dispensing.

6.3. Other Recommendations

Hold the XL vertically when aspirating the liquid and place the tip only a
few millimetres into the liquid.
When using automatic modes, pre-rinse the pipette/tip by filling and
emptying the tip for five times before aspirating the actual sample. This
is important especially when dispensing liquids which have a viscosity
and density different from water.
When pipetting liquids at a temperature other than ambient, pre-rinse
the pipette/ tip several times before use.
Do not rest the pipettor on its side, as this could cause contamination of
the nose cone and filter. Always place the XL in the charging base when
it is not in use.
Do not drop the XL, the charging base or the AC-adaptor as this may
damage these devices.
Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperature changes, humidity and
dust.
Avoid rough handling, moderate pressure is all that is required when
using the keyboard.

7. STORAGE

It is recommended that the XL is kept in its charging base with the
switch in the ON position when it is not in use.
