Influences on the measurement result
Due to physical effects, the possibility of inaccurate measurements when measuring vari-
ous surfaces cannot be excluded. These include:
– Transparent surfaces (e.g. glass, water)
– Reflective surfaces (e.g. polished metal, glass)
– Porous surfaces (e.g. insulating materials)
– Structured surfaces (e.g. roughcast, natural stone).
If necessary, use the laser target plate (16) (accessory) on these surfaces.
Layers of air at different temperatures and indirectly received reflections can also influ-
ence the measured value.
Errors – causes and corrective measures
Cause
Temperature warning symbol (thermometer) is shown on the display, operation is
not possible
Measuring tool is outside of the operating
temperature range of -10 °C to +40 °C.
Battery indicator decreasing
The battery voltage is weakening (measur-
ing is still possible).
Battery indicator empty, measurement not possible
Battery voltage too low
"Error" indicator and "−−−−" shown on the display
Angle between laser beam and target is too
acute.
Target surface is too reflective (e.g. mirror)
or not reflective enough (e.g. black mater-
ial), or ambient light is too bright.
The laser beam output (13) and/or recep-
tion lens (12) are fogged up (e.g. due to a
rapid temperature change).
Calculated value is larger than 999,999 or
smaller than -999,999 m/m
Measuring result is unreliable
Bosch Power Tools
Remedy
Wait until the measuring tool has reached
operating temperature
Change the batteries or battery pack
Change the batteries or battery pack
Increase the angle between the laser beam
and the target
Use the laser target plate (16) (accessory)
Dry the laser beam output (13) and/or re-
ception lens (12) with a soft cloth
Divide the calculation into intermediate
