5. Commissioning, operation
5.1.3 Vessel surface cleaning
Using a hand drill with auxillary side handle attachment begin cleaning the surface using a
50 mm [2 in] coarse grit sanding pad or coarse grit flap disc.
Surface must have scale and rust removed to provide proper adhesion of magnet. A bright
finish of the surface metal is preferred.
WARNING!
Risk of over grinding the vessel wall thickness
Vessel wall thickness is critical to proper operations. Over griding can cause
a weakened or thin section of the vessel wall.

Use proper grinding methods and tools.

Only remove scale and rust.
▶
Do not penetrate the vessel surface!
