INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1 – USING YOUR PRESSURE COOKER FOR THE
FIRST TIME
Before using the pressure cooker for the first time,
wash it with hot water and a normal detergent, then
rinse it and dry it with a soft cloth.
It is now ready for use.
2 - FILLING
Follow the filling instructions given in the above section
"SAFETY TIPS FOR USING YOUR PRESSURE COOKER".
3 – CLOSING THE PRESSURE COOKER
Before closing the pressure cooker, proceed as follows:
1 STEAM OUTLET (12): Remove the rotary valve (11)
from the lid and check from the inside of the lid that
the steam outlet hole is totally clean and unobstructed.
If it is not, clean it using a thin rod. (Fig.1)
2 SAFETY VALVE (13): Check it is working correctly by
pressing the valve pin with a rod from inside the lid. If it
can be pushed in, it is working correctly. (Fig.2)
TO CLOSE THE PRESSURE COOKER:
Screw the knob down completely and slide the lid in
the opposite direction to opening. Feel around the lid
to check it is correctly coupled to the body.
Turn the knob in closing direction (clockwise) until you
notice it becomes slightly stiff. Then finally close the lid
by giving the knob 1 1⁄2 or 2 turns, ensuring the lid is
firmly closed.
Place the rotary valve (11) on the steam outlet in the
lid.
PRESSURE COOKER MAINTENANCE
After each use:
You should rinse the pressure cooker with plenty of hot
water. Avoid using detergents. Only use brushes and
sponges that will not scratch the outer or inner surface.
If there are any food residues stuck to the pressure
cooker, fill it with water and leave it to soak for a while.
If there are any scale deposits or colour changes, boil
water containing vinegar in it.
The pressure cooker body is dishwasher-safe, but you
should not wash the lid in a dishwasher.
To wash the LID, clean the steam outlet hole using a thin
rod (Fig.1), and the safety valve by pressing the pin with
a rod (Fig.2). Then rinse it vigorously under the tap.

4 - COOKING
Place the closed pressure cooker on the cooker ring,
with the ring on its highest setting.
Start counting the cooking time from when the rotary
valve starts to turn with steam coming out of it. Then
reduce the power to a lower setting so that the valve
rotates slowly.
During cooking, it is normal for a small amount of steam
to come out of the safety valve (13).
If you are using a gas cooker, check the gas flame at
the start, making sure it does not exceed the pressure
cooker base and that the pressure cooker is centred on
top of the flame. This will save on power and prevent
damage to the handles and sealing gasket.
5 – OPENING THE PRESSURE COOKER
When the cooking time has elapsed, REMOVE THE RO-
TARY VALVE (11) to let the pressure out. When all the
steam has come out, open the pressure cooker.
NEVER SUBMERGE THE PRESSURE COOKER IN WATER.
TO OPEN THE PRESSURE COOKER:
Turn the knob (4) anticlockwise until the bridge (5) is at
its lowest point, resting on the lid (14).
Slide the lid horizontally over the edge of the body.

Storing the pressure cooker:
After cleaning the pressure cooker and drying it with a
cloth, store it without closing it. To do this, turn the lid
upwards so that the sealing gasket (16) is aired and can
dry out completely.
Sealing gasket:
Clean the sealing gasket when you wash the lid, with-
out taking it out of its housing.
If you have been using the pressure cooker for a long
time, you should replace it with a new ORIGINAL ALZA
sealing gasket, to prevent any steam leakage from the
pressure cooker and ensure its correct functioning.
Stud + Bushing:
If the pressure cooker has had heavy use, check the
thread of these parts (7 and 8). If it is worn, you should
replace the whole unit
