PROBLEM
Appliance won't operate
Bad smell or too much
smell from oil
Oil is smoking.
Oil is foaming or boiling over
Food is not going golden
Chips/Crisps are sticking together
If you are unable to ascertain what has caused the problem, under no circumstances should you attempt to

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Appliance is not plugged in properly
On/Off button has not been activated
Thermostat is not engaged
RESET button has been triggered
Control box is not positioned correctly
Oil has deteriorated
Oil is not suitable
Oil has deteriorated
Temperature is too high
Oil is not suitable for deep-frying
Too much water in food
Oil is too old
Different oils have been mixed
Recommended quantities have
been exceeded
Basket lowered into oil too quickly
Basket is overloaded
Oil is not hot enough
Food has not been washed properly
SOLUTIONS
Check connections
Set to 'ON' position
Turn knob to required temperature
Let appliance cool down then re-set
Remove and replace it in correct position
Change oil
Use a specialist deep-frying oil
Don't mix different types of oil
Change oil
Set thermostat to lower setting
Use a suitable, high quality oil
Dry food well
Change oil
Empty bowl and clean it.
Use a specialist deep-frying oil
