Before using the fondue set for the first time

• Start by carefully reading the instructions for use and the safety instructions.
• Remove all packaging materials and make sure that all parts are present as specified in the «Scope of delivery»
section and in proper condition.
• Clean all parts using warm water and a mild detergent. Never use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
Dry the parts off completely when finished.
• For easier cleaning, the fondue pot, the forks and the splash guard are safe for washing in the dishwasher.
5.3

Start-up

• Add the desired quantity of vegetable oil / cooking oil or broth to the pot and heat it at medium heat on the stove
until it starts boiling. Do not use butter, margarine or cold-pressed oils. The fondue pot should not be filled with
liquid by more than approx. 2/3.
• When you notice small bubbles forming on a wooden pick that is dipped into the hot vegetable oil / cooking oil,
the oil has reached the perfect temperature.
• Place the fondue pot with the hot liquid onto the gas rechaud. If necessary, wear oven mitts when carrying the
fondue pot. Place the splash guard onto the pot. Now, use a stick lighter or a long match to ignite the fondue
paste in the fuel burner.
• You can set the intensity of the flame in accordance with the temperature you need.
• Use the forks to skewer the prepared pieces of meat and cook them in the hot liquid. Take note of the colour
marking on the handle of your fork.
• Caution: Never leave the fondue pot unattended or in the proximity of children when it contains hot oil / grease.
Help children prepare and cook their pieces of meat.
• Once the ingredients are cooked, carefully remove the fork from the pot. Allow excess oil to drip off from the
chunks of meat.
• Enjoy the cooked food with your favourite sauces and dips.
5.4

Tips and tricks

• Carefully dry off the chunks of meat. This reduces the risk of splashes.
• To ensure your food will be cooked evenly, cut it into chunks of equal sizes.
• Do not dip too many ingredients at a time into the hot oil to prevent the oil from cooling down too quickly.
• When cooking battered vegetables or delicate pieces of fish, use the optional fondue skimmers.
• Do not season the meat until it is cooked to prevent it from drying out.
