MATERIALS
A 1 Towbar mainframe with European facing to 94/20/EC A50-1
B 1 Coupling Packer
C 2 Sidearms (Left and Right hand)
C1 2 Packing Plates (Left and Right hand)
D 2 M12 x 1.25 Nyloc Nuts and large Flat Washers (40mm O.D)
D1 2 Spreader Plates with captive bolts
D2 2 M12 x 40 x1.25mm Bolts, Lock Washers
E 2 M12 x 35 x 1.25mm Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm O.D.)
F 4 M12 x 35 x 1.25mm Bolts and Nyloc Nuts.
G 2 M12 x 40 x 1.25mm Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm O.D.)
CB 2 M16 x 50mm Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
Z 1 ZEP35 Electrical plate (not shown)
FITTING
1. Remove Towing hook and Lash down eye from left hand side of chassis at (Y) and remove bolts holding fuel tank shield to
chassis at (X).
2. Loosely attach Sidearms (C) and Plates (C1) to vehicle using Bolts (G) with Flat Washers at (X), existing towing eye bolts
at (Y), refitting the towing hook but not the lash down eye, and Bolts (E) on right hand side with Flat Washers. Also insert
Spreader Plates (D1) into open ends of chassis and attach using Nuts (D)-on later models with captive nuts in chassis use
Bolts (D2) with Large Flat Washers and Lock Washers.
Note. The fuel tank cover is re-attached underneath the Sidearms (C).
3. Loosely attach Towbar Mainframe (A) to Sidearms (C) using Bolts (F). Finally tighten all bolts.
On some models extra exhaust clearance is given by easing the hangers outwards and/or rotating the rubber.
Note. Alternative towball mountings are provided in the form of a 4 hole Faceplate.
Use Coupling Packer (B) when lower mountings are used.
This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1X) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm , M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
