General
If you have any trouble with the modem, first perform the following
steps:
1. Verify that all cables are properly connected to the modem and the
back of your computer.
2. Verify that the modem is connected to a USB port on your computer.
3. Shut down and restart your computer.
If you still have trouble with the modem, follow these steps to verify
whether it was installed correctly:
Windows Vista:
1. Click Windows Start > Control Panel.
2. Click Hardware and Sound.
3. Click Phone and Modem Options.
The Modems tab, should have a description of the modem. If it
does not, the installation was not successful; perform the installa-
tion procedure again.
4. On the Modems tab, select the description of the modem and
click Properties.
5. On the Diagnostics tab, click the Query Modem button.
If a series of commands and responses is displayed, the installa-
tion was successful.
If no commands and responses are displayed, the installation was
not successful; perform the installation procedure again.
Windows XP or 2000:
1. Click Windows Start > Settings (if applicable), > Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Phone and Modem Options icon.
