TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Problem
The Indicator does not
switch on when the ON/
OFF button is pressed.
When the indicator is
switched on, 8.888 does
not appear on the display.
The display switches off
during use.
The indicator will not
reset to zero when the
CLR button is pressed.
During bearing drive-up,
the values on the
SensorMount Indicator
do not change.
The values shown on the
indicator suddenly
change.

Action
• Make sure the battery is correctly connected.
• Make sure the battery is not discharged -
replace the battery if required.
• The LCD or internal connections are damaged.
Return indicator to SKF for service.
• This is normal after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Press the ON/OFF button to reactivate the
display. The correct value will be shown on the
indicator until the CLR button is pressed.
• Press and hold the CLR button for three
seconds.
• Make sure the connectors are properly
connected.
• Check the cable, connectors and sensor for
damage.
• Make sure the connectors are properly
connected. Carefully reconnect the connectors
if necessary, and make sure that the value on
the display changes. The correct value will be
shown on the indicator until the CLR button is
pressed.
• Make sure the bearing is correctly seated. The
bearing must contact the shaft or sleeve
properly.
• Make sure the hydraulic nut has not exceeded
the maximum stroke.
• Check the cable, connectors and sensor for
damage.
• Make sure the bearing has not suddenly
moved during the mounting procedure.
• Check the cable, connectors and sensor for
damage.
• Make sure the connectors are properly
connected.
