- For battery operation remove the four
GB
screws at the bottom housing of the
unit. Connect the battery poles to the
"I"-shaped battery snaps of the unit.
Insert the batteries into the battery fix-
ture. Mount the bottom housing and
fasten it. If the unit will not be operated
via the batteries for a longer period of
time, the batteries should be removed.
The unit can thus not be damaged
should battery leakage occur.
2) Connect the microphone to the input (13).
The XLR socket has a lock which can be
released by pressing down the PUSH lever
and at the same time pulling out the plug.
3) Connect the following unit with line level
input (e. g. amplifier, mixer) to the output
(12).
4) It is additionally possible to mix the ampli-
fied microphone signal to a stereo line
channel:
- If the microphone signal is going to be
mixed to the stereo line signal of a fur-
ther signal source, connect the source
to the input (11).
- If the output signal of the stereo line
channel is going to be fed to a following
unit with line level input (e. g. recording
unit), connect the unit to the output (10).
5) For power supply via the AC/AC adaptor
connect it to a mains socket (230 V~/
50 Hz).
5
Operation
1) Switch the unit on via the on/off switch
(8). The LED above the selector switch
(1) lights green to indicate operation.
2) Via the selector switch (1) the amplification
of the microphone signal can be adjusted
in 12 steps from 15 dB to 70 dB. Adjust the
selector switch according to the desired
amplification. In case of overload the LED
above the selector switch lights red.
3) When using a phantom-powered con-
denser microphone, the phantom power
supply (+24 V) has to be switched on by
tilting the switch (3) upwards.
4) Tilt the switch (4) upwards for reversing
the phase of the microphone signal by
180°.
5) The microphone signal is mixed to the
stereo line channel via the mixing control
8
(2). Turn up the control according to the
desired signal level. The output signal of
the stereo line channel is available at the
jacks (10).
6) The mono microphone signal is distributed
to the stereo line channel via the panpot
(7). The panpot setting determines the po-
sition of the microphone signal within the
stereo mix image:
With the control in center position, the sig-
nal acoustically appears in the center. The
more the control is turned to the left (L) the
more the signal is acoustically moved to
the left; the more the control is turned to
the right (R), the more the signal is moved
to the right.
7) Tilt the switch (5) upwards for suppress-
ing high interference frequencies via the
low-pass filter.
8) Tilt the switch (6) upwards for suppress-
ing low interference frequencies via the
high-pass filter.
