3. Machine description

The machine described in this manual is a manually
controlled permanent magnet lifter designed to handle
(hoisting, traversing and setting down) ferromagnetic
material; (sheet, plates and round pieces of common
ferrous material). It exploits the properties of permanent
magnets to create a magnetic field which attract ferrous
materials. To activate it use the lever which rotates the
nucleus with the permanent magnets inside. This
rotation creates a magnetic flow that passes through the
handled load during the machine working phase and
short circuits inside the lifter during the release phase
(see par. 3.4).

3.1 Information data

The manufacturer's identification and CE RuLING
conformity plate is placed on the machine of the
equipment. It is also reported here below
The plate must not be removed at any time even if the
machine should be sold again. Always refer to the
serial number when contacting the manufacturer.
The company is not to be held responsible for
damage to property or accidents to people which
WARNING
might occur if the above mentioned warnings are not
observed. In such a case, the operator is the only
person responsible.

3.2 Intended use

• Minimum temperature: – 10 °C;
• Maximum temperature: + 60 °C;
• Maximum relative humidity: 80 %.
• Consider the carrying capacity, sheet thickness and
air gap in combination when determining whether
the magnet is sufficient for the weight of the load
(see Item 4 of the operating instructions)
• Take note of the maximum dimensions of the load
(see Item 4 of the operating instructions)
• Operate the devices only with suitable protective
clothing (wear gloves, safety footwear and a helmet)!
• The operator must take care to ensure that he cannot
be injured, either by the load or by the magnet or the
hoist.
• Always lift vertically with the device. Avoid parallel
shear pull!

• Always use the device only with the lifting eye
pointing upwards.
• The device is not suitable for use as an attachment
point for hoists.
• The operator may begin moving the load only after he
has satisfied himself that nobody is present in the
hazardous area.
• Always hang the magnet from the base of the hoist
hook – do not put any strain on the tip of the hook.

3.3 Inappropriate use

• The carrying capacity specified on the magnet must
not be exceeded.
• Never use with sheets that are thinner than the
minimum required thickness.
• Transporting people is forbidden.
• Persons with heart pacemakers are prohibited from
using the device.
• The hand lever must be thrown manually; powered
operation is forbidden.
• Use magnets only to lift straight upwards, and not at
an angle from the vertical. Consult the manufacturer
prior to using the device in a situation that may
require pulling at an angle.
• The use of the device in potentially explosive
environments is prohibited.
• Entering the area under a suspended load is
forbidden.
• Repair work is permitted only after consultation with
the manufacturer.
• Welding on the magnet itself is prohibited.
• Any kind of modification of the magnet is forbidden.
• Extending the lever is not permitted.
