Congratulations
for
thermostat.
Made
rules, the "KTL" is easy to use and will be by your side for many years to come.
CHARACTERISTICS
The KTL kit with regulator thermostat is a remote control system for
fan coil unit units.
To facilitate installation, KTL is available in two versions with the same
technical characteristics and features:
- KTLM for fan coil unit units with casing;
- KTLP for piped fan coil unit units,
KTL kits are made up of an I.R. remote control, and I.R. receiver, an
electronic control board with air temperature probe, a connection cable,
brackets and items required for attachment. KTL can be attached to a
fan coil unit installed in a plant with 2 pipes with or without a water
valve, or to 4 pipes with a water valve.
Each KTL kit controls one fan coil unit.
The remote control is equipped with a support for hanging it on a wall
and carrying out operations without having to remove it.
The KTL kit is only to be installed by specialised personnel. Remove the
power supply before starting all installation or maintenance. Contact
with live components can cause dangerous electric shock. KTL com-
plies with Low Voltage directives 73/23 (EN 60730-1, EN 60730-2-9,
EN 60335-1) and electro-magnetic compatibility 89/336 (EN 61000-4-
1, EN 55011, 55022, 55014).
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Electric power supply: 230V
Absorbed power: 7VA
Operating conditions: 5°C ÷ 70°C
Storage conditions: -18°C ÷ 70°C with relative humidity below 90%,
without condensation.
Power supply for remote control: 2 alkaline batteries 1.5V LR 03
(AAA).
Connection cable for receiver: 6 m with RJ connectors.
FUNCTION
The thermostat keeps the room temperature at the set temperature.
The KTL remote control is equipped with the following functions:
- selection of the Automatic mode, Heating, Cooling, Dehumidifying
and Ventilation only;
- manual change of season,
- automatic change of season (air side);
- using the remote control, possibility of choosing whether to use its
own room temperature probe or the one located on the fan coil unit;
- clock;
- timer for programming switch on/switch off;
- manual choice of ventilation speed;
- automatic choice of ventilation speed depending on room
temperature;
- enforcement of continuous ventilation at maximum speed;
- nocturnal wellbeing "SLEEP" function;
- display of set temperature;
- display of room temperature.
Furthermore, the I.R. receiver:
- displays fan coil unit switch-on;
- displays the heating operation mode;
- displays the cooling operation mode;
- starts up the fan coil unit in automatic mode.
VENTILATION
Three speed ventilation which can be selected manually
or automatically. In the "HEATING"
"AUTOMATIC"
and "DEHUMIDIFYING"
is normally managed by the thermostat which maintains the set
temperature by means of On-Off cycles or variations in ventilation
speed.

In "Heating" mode, ventilation is delayed respect to the switch-on/
switch-off commands; this function prevents unwanted ventilation
with inadequate air temperature. Ventilation speed is set by the
button on the remote control.
Manual management, the ventilator uses On-Off cycles on the
selected speed.
Automatic management, display of (
managed by the microprocessor.
Speed is controlled according to the difference in temperature (∆t)
between the set temperature and the room temperature.
Minimum speed: ∆t between 0°C and up to 1°C;
Medium speed: ∆t between 1°C and up to 2°C;
Maximum speed: ∆t of 2°C or more.
Automatic management of speed is active in Heating, Cooling and
Automatic modes. Minimum working time between one speed and
another is 30 seconds.
"STRONG" Function (
Works only in Cooling and Heating modes. Ventilation is applied at
maximum speed, the set temperature is not taken into account.
"VENTILATION ONLY" mode (
It is also possible to choose completely manual management using
the "VENTILATION ONLY" mode (
regardless of the set temperature. The "VENTILATION ONLY" mode
allows the fan to work even when the hydraulic plant is switched off;
when cold or hot water circulates ventilation is continuous and not
controlled by the thermostat. The desired speed is set manually, when
automatic speed is set (
AUTOMATIC "CHANGE OVER" AIR SIDE
This function is only active in "AUTOMATIC" mode (
automatically sets the operating mode of the fan coil unit during heating
or cooling, according to the set temperature and the room temperature
detected by the room temperature probe.
The fan coil unit starts in "Cooling Mode" when the room temperature
is 2°C over the set temperature, the Cooling mode stops when the room
temperature is 1°C over the set temperature. (A 1°C differential).
The fan coil unit starts in "Heating Mode" when the room temperature is
2°C under the set temperature, the Heating mode stops when the room
temperature is 1°C under the set temperature. (A 1°C differential). There is
therefore a dead area of 2°C.
There is a 10 minute minimum standby to pass from one mode to the
other.
The "HEAT" light is lit on the receiver only when heating is requested and
the "COOL" light goes on only when cooling is requested.
"I FEEL" FUNCTION (
KTL normally detects air temperature with a probe on the fan coil unit
whereas by setting the "I FEEL" function, the probe inside the remote
control is activated and every 4 minutes the detected value is sent to
the fan coil unit receiver via I.R. if the remote control is programmed
with the "I FEEL" function and is not able to communicate with
the receiver for 10 minutes (because it is too far from he receiver,
put in a drawer, hidden from the receiver's direct sight etc.) the
"I FEEL" programme automatically deactivates and restarts once
communication is restored. When the "I FEEL" functions is active
the remote control must be put in a position where it is able to
,
communicate through I.R. with the receiver; being near to a human
body, sources of heat and direct sunlight influence the measured
temperature and consequently the fan coil unit unit's operation.
