The tool must never be operated without this
additional cover! Danger of injury!
Put the plastic protective cover on the metal protective
cover as shown in Fig. 11 and fix it using the 4 screws
M5x10 included.
Dismounting the metal cutting disc (fig. 2, 4, 12)
Now block the gear by inserting the Allen key laterally
into the opening in the disk holder. Make sure that the
opening in the disk holder is aligned with the opening
in the gear housing.
Unscrew nut C by turning it clockwise.
Remove disc B and the cutting disc. Put washer B
back on the holding device. The line cutting head
must not be mounted without this disc!
Screw the line cutting head on the threaded bold
by turning it anti-clockwise and fasten it hand-tight.
Remove the blockage by pulling the Allen key out of
the gear on the side again.
Never operate the tool with the gear still blocked!
Danger of injury!
Make sure to keep the nut used to mount the cutting
disc for any later modification.
The tool is now ready for operation.
To modify the brushcutter for operation with the
cutting disc block the gear as described above and
manually turn off the line cutting head anti-clockwise.
Then proceed as described in the paragraph 'Moun-
ting the cutting disc'.
Adjusting nylon line
Check the nylon line regularly if it is damaged or if it still
has the correct length.
When cutting performance deteriorates: Hold the running
trimmer above a patch of grass. Tap the cutting head on
the ground (fig. 13). The cord is automatically extended.
The cutter at the protection cover cuts the cord to the
required length (fig. 14).
Note: Clean the thread cutting blade from grass remainders
in order to guarantee an unaffected cutting performance.
Attention: Danger of injury through the cutting blade!
Replacement of spool (fig. 15)
First, switch off and unplug the device. Wait until the nylon
thread has come to a halt.
Remove the screw (1) by turning it clockwise.
Remove the used thread coil and put in the new coil (2)
such, that one end of the thread comes out of each outlet
at the sides of the cutting head. Please take care that the
spring (4) is properly seated under the thread coil.
When the coil sits in its correct position in the housing
(3), push it firmly into the housing so that the spring is
tensioned. Firmly pull at both ends of the cord so that the
cord cannot be pinched between the coil and housing.
Maintain the spring tension through continuous pressure
on the coil in the housing and fix the screw by turning it
anticlockwise. Fasten the screw fingertight only.
8. Connection of the Tool
The machines can only be operated on single phase
alternating current. They are double-insulated according
to class II VDE 0700 and CEE 20. Before taking the
machine into operation please make sure that the line
supply is in compliance with the operating voltage shown
on the output plate.
The minimum cross-section of the extension chord is
1.5 mm²
The extension chord should not exceed 40m. All
components should be designed according to the local
regulations, the IEC or EN regulations.
The tool is equipped with a cable strain relief located at
the rear of it. Connect the plug connection of the electric
lawn trimmer and the extension chord. Make a loop
with the extension chord and place it above the hook of
the strain relief. Thus, the plug connection is effectively
protected against tensile load and can also not be cut off
unintentionally.
9. Switching on / off
To operate your tool:
• Make sure you have a secure footing.
• Hold the tool firmly (with both hands).
• Stand upright - hold tool in relaxed position.
• Do not rest the cutting head on the ground.
• Push the switch lock A forward. Then push the switch
B. Once the tool has been switched on, the switch lock
A does not have to be pushed forward any longer.
• The tool is switched off when you release the switch.
10. Working with the brushcutter
WARNING! DANGER!
Always use the shoulder strap. Adjust both the strap
and strap bracket on the unit such that the unit hangs
a few inches above ground level. The cutting disk and
the protection cover should be level in all directions.
Carry the unit strapped on the right side of your body.
WARNING! DANGER!
Do not cut with dull, cracked or damaged metal
blades.
WARNING! DANGER !
Do not touch these types of objects with the
blade!
Before cutting growth, inspect the working area
for obstructions such as boulders, metal stakes or
strands of wire from broken fences. If an obstruction
cannot be removed, mark its location so that you can
avoid it with the blade. Rocks and metal will dull or
damage a blade. Wire may get caught in the cutting
head and flap around or be thrown into the air.
Always carry the tool with the shoulder strap when
you operate the brushcutter.
When operating the tool, always make sure that the
handle is located between you and the blade.
If the rotating blade touches an object offering
enough resistance, a strong laterally directed force
may act on the tool and the person operating it. This
