❐ Even if we are not aware of any complications, we recommend that people with pacemakers
maintain a distance of at least 60 cm from the device when activated and discuss other
relevant protection notes with their physician before use.
Fire hazard
❐ Do not place any fl ammable materials like cardboard, plastic or paper between the pot/pan
and hotplate.
❐ The device should never be set up and used when highly fl ammable materials are nearby
(curtains, textiles, etc.).
❐ Always allow the device to cool off completely before you store it.
❐ Do not use the device if easily fl ammable gases are present in the air.
❐ Keep fl ammable (ignitable), acidic or alkaline materials or substances away from the device as
the they could reduce its service life and pose a risk of explosion when activated.
The right location
❐ Do not use the device when water or other liquids are nearby in order to avoid the risk of
electrical shock.
❐ Only use the device in dry, enclosed areas.
❐ Always place the device on a dry, level, fi rm, and heat resistant surface and at an adequate
distance to fl ammable objects. If necessary, place a heat-resistant base under the device.
❐ The device may not be used on a base containing iron/steel as it could heat up and destroy
the bottom of the device.
❐ Do not block or cover the vents for circulating air in and out of the device. It may cause the
device to overheat. Maintain a minimum distance of 5–10 cm to walls or objects.
❐ The device is not suitable for installation in existing furnishings.
❐ Do not place the device directly under kitchen cupboards or a kitchen shelf.
❐ Maintain adequate distance to open fl ames and other heat sources to prevent damage to
the device.
❐ Only connect the device to a properly installed socket with protective earth contacts. The
socket must also be easily accessible after the device has been connected. The mains voltage
must correspond to the technical data of the device.
❐ Do not connect the device directly to a power source, do not use multi-socket outlets or
extension cords.
❐ Do not place the device near other devices and objects, which are sensitive to magnetic fi elds
(e. g.: radios, televisions, cassette recorders, etc.). The function of the induction hotplates
could also be affected by these devices.
❐ Ensure that the connected mains cord does not pose a tripping hazard. Do not allow the
mains cord to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen worktops. Someone could catch
him / herself and pull down the device.
❐ Lay the mains cord such that it is not crushed or creased and such that it does not come into
contact with hot surfaces.
❐ Do not pull or carry the device by the mains cord.
