Disassembly, care and storage
As soon as the Tripod Lashing is cooled down completely after your fireplace has been extinguished,
remove the branches and wipe the ring well with a soft, dry cloth. For rough grime you can clean the
ring with water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Dry well afterwards. The same applies to the chain
and the two hooks.
Please note that due to insufficient care and storage even stainless steel might rust. This can arise for
instance from ash residues on the Tripod Lashing. Due to ash being hygroscopic, it binds water from
air humidity and forms an alkaline solution. The solution corrodes any type of stainless steel and
promotes rust development. Also, steel and steel chips extract oxygen from the passive layer of the
stainless steel which may cause rust.
Do not keep the Tripod Lashing with chain and hooks unprotected outdoors. Stow all parts only after
they are completely cold, clean and dry. Avoid humidity. Do not store the Tripod Lashing close to steel
objects (e.g. tools) as this can lead to contact corrosion. Wrap your Tripod Lashing with chain and hooks
into a dry cloth to protect all parts from humidity and flash rust.
Warranty
In the case of proper use, a warranty period of two years will apply to your Petromax Tripod Lashing
from the date of purchase. If you use your Petromax Tripod Lashing properly due to a defect in material
or manufacturing, you are entitled to a warranty repair. Contact your retailer for that purpose.
